Tuesday, Take an Interstellar Journey with Janna Levin and Matt Kirshen

This week on StarTalk All-Stars travel through space and time. Well, not exactly. However, we are exploring what one day might be a casually accepted way of travel just like cars, buses, and trains: interstellar space travel.

Re-visit our podcast, Traveling Through Space and Time, with Janna Levin, featuring astrophysicist and host Janna Levin and her comic co-host Matt Kirshen as they tackle your fan-submitted Cosmic Queries about traveling beyond our home world.

This brings up a question that always floats around this conversation: if you were given the chance for a one-way trip off-world, would you take it? I bounce back and forth with my answer but I usually lean towards “No!” I think there are far too many things I haven’t done on this world to be heading off to another. However, there are plenty of people you could ask who would jump at the opportunity without hesitation. It’s what’s great about the question!

In this episode, you’ll hear Janna and Matt discuss traveling at the speed of light, dark matter and dark energy, time dilation, and much more of your favorite cosmic topics. You’ll also hear about black holes, wormholes inside of black holes, and black holes colliding.

We’ve also got a fascinating conversation about what ships would be able to see when voyaging on interstellar or intergalactic journeys – both answers result in exceptional stargazing opportunities.

Please join us tomorrow night for Traveling Through Time and Space, with Janna Levin (Repeat) at 7pm ET right here on our website, as well as on our All-Stars channels on Apple Podcasts, Google Play Music, SoundCloud, Stitcher, and TuneIn. If you’re an All-Access subscriber, you can watch or listen to this episode ad-free at 7pm, too.

That’s it for now. Keep Looking Up!
