Tuesday, Mike Massimino Takes Us Inside NASA Mission Control

Time to revisit a StarTalk All-Stars episode that’s been very popular with all the NASA nerds in our audience which, I’m pretty sure, covers just about everyone who listens to StarTalk, myself included.

This week during the StarTalk All-Stars hiatus, we’re repeating Inside Mission Control, with Astro Mike Massimino. Who better to take us on a tour of the inner-workings of the Johnson Space Center than Mike? He’s joined by his guests, NASA Flight Directors Emily Nelson and Royce Renfrew, and comedian co-host Maeve Higgins.

You’ll hear about keeping the expedition crews safe and the dangers of long-term space flight. Plus, Emily shares some of the best practical jokes that have happened in space, and you’ll learn about the good luck rituals and superstitions found amongst some of the members of the Johnson Space Center team.

It’s been almost exactly one year since the StarTalk Podcast Network launched StarTalk All-Stars. I’d say we’re steady on course.
