Tuesday, Look Back at Your Favorite StarTalk All-Stars Episodes from Season Two

This week on StarTalk All-Stars we’re looking back at a great year of shows. As we do every year, we asked you to vote on your favorite episodes of the season and you did not disappoint! You’ll hear from some of your favorite hosts, co-hosts, and guests including some StarTalk veterans and some first-time participants in an episode that showcases some of your favorite episodes – and some of ours!

Ben Ratner's photo of Bill Nye and Chuck Nice in the StarTalk All-Stars studio.

It wouldn’t be a Time Capsule episode if we didn’t have some Bill Nye. You’ll hear from Bill throughout this episode as he chats with Chuck Nice about science fiction, with Neil deGrasse Tyson about Mars, and with climate scientist Radley Horton about climate change.

You’ll also hear from former astronaut Mike Massimino as he investigates what it will take to put humans on Mars, alongside co-host Maeve Higgins and John Charles, Chief Scientist at NASA. Carolyn Porco makes the Time Capsule episode as she reminisces on Voyager 1 with Maeve Higgins, Sean Ono Lennon, and filmmaker Emer Reynolds, director of The Farthest – a documentary on Voyager 1.

You’ll explore my favorite episode of the year “What is Consciousness?” with Heather Berlin. Neuroscientist Dr. Heather Berlin joined the StarTalk All-Stars line-up this year and we couldn’t be happier. In this clip, you’ll hear some mind-bending conversation about free will, dissociative identity disorder, and the “readiness potential” of the brain when Heather sits down with Chuck Nice and philosopher David Chalmers.

Finally, because climate change was one of the biggest points of scientific interest in 2017, you’ll hear another clip about climate change from Seth Shostak, senior astronomer at SETI, taken from his episode Get Real About Climate Change, with Seth Shostak, when he chats with Eugene Mirman and climate scientist Ken Caldeira about the realities of climate change.

Thanks for voting, and enjoy our brand-new season of StarTalk All-Stars coming soon!

Please join us tomorrow night for Season 2 Time Capsule – StarTalk All-Stars at 7pm ET right here on our website, as well as on our All-Stars channels on Apple Podcasts, Google Play Music, SoundCloud, Stitcher, and TuneIn. That’s it for now. Keep Looking Up!
