Chances are, you are familiar with Sir David Attenborough.
If you’ve ever seen a BBC nature show, you’ve likely seen him.
And heard his voice.
Which is why the moment in our Season 6 premier when Sir David tells Neil deGrasse Tyson about “the most sensual reproductive sequence I’ve ever shot…” is so… unexpected.
Never fear, the story that follows is both safe for work and strangely intimate at the same time.
There’s plenty more from Sir David to come. For example, the man who says that the one single subject he’s covered is the history of life then proceeds to expertly chronicle that history in exactly 30 seconds.
As if Sir David Attenborough wasn’t enough, back in the studio, Neil is joined by comic co-host Chuck Nice and Bill Nye the Science Guy, author of the bestselling book, Undeniable: Evolution and the Science of Creation.
With three of the most popular science communicators and advocates of the theory of evolution on a single show, you can count on hearing about creationism. While Bill tells Neil about the upside – and the downside – of debating Ken Ham, Sir David tells Neil about the impossibility of having a rational argument with people who believe the biblical creation story.
And there’s Darwin, of course. You’ll hear plenty about naturalists, Darwin, natural selection, and beetles.
You’ll also hear a bit about climate change. While Sir David isn’t hopeful about the future, and talks about the dreadful damage we’ve done to our planet, the always optimistic Bill Nye has a plan… and a challenge for the scientifically literate in our audience.
Join us for the premier of our 6th Season this Sunday, January 18th, at 7:00 pm ET on our website, iTunes, Stitcher, TuneIn and SoundCloud.
And after you’ve heard the show, please come back to the website and tell us what you think in the comments.
That’s it for now. Keep Looking Up.
