Re-Visit “Cosmic Queries – The Random Edition” Now Featuring a Segment of “Neil’d It”

Friday night, Neil deGrasse Tyson and comic co-host Chuck Nice turn up the randomness. On this week’s episode of StarTalk Radio we’re extending a classic episode, Cosmic Queries The Random Edition. It now features a segment of “Neil’d It” – where Neil and Chuck comb Internet comments to see if the science is right.

If you haven’t listened to the original episode, it features all the questions we couldn’t quite place in another theme-specific episode of Cosmic Queries. There is a great hodgepodge of science banter, chatter, and information waiting to be heard. You’ll hear about alien plant life, colonizing Mars, and whether there’s a north pole to our universe.

Explore Jupiter’s moon Europa, the starry skies of Saturn, the stability of black holes; the expansion of the Sun, the movement of the Moon, and what the bright spot on the dwarf planet Ceres might be.

I always enjoy these potpourri style episodes because of their random nature. Hearing Neil and Chuck explore all the nooks and crannies of the universe that our fans want to know more about is always a great time and a great listen.

If you like this episode, we also have other Cosmic Queries episodes that bring together questions from all across the universe. One of my favorites is Cosmic Queries: Potpourri Vol. 2, for an obvious reason if you’re familiar with my blog posts: we talk a lot about the science of movies. From the water planet in Interstellar, to the scientists in Arrival, we let the sci fi flow. Not to mention, we hear Neil recite replicant Roy Batty’s epic monologue from the climax of Blade Runner.

Please join us tomorrow night for Extended Classic – Cosmic Queries The Random Edition at 7pm ET right here on our website, as well as on Apple Podcasts, Google Play Music, SoundCloud, Stitcher, and TuneIn. If you’re an All-Access subscriber, you can watch or listen to this episode ad-free at 7pm, too.

That’s it for now. Keep Looking Up!
