Are you worried that light pollution is stealing our view of the stars at night? If so, you’re not alone. The non-profit International Dark-Sky Association is working to protect the night skies for present and future generations. They’ve already helped designate 21 parks in the U.S. and 7 others around the world as International Dark Sky Parks.
Change Your View with Celestron and StarTalk Radio
Celestron and StarTalk Radio have teamed up to help support the IDA this November and December with a special contest, “Change Your View with Celestron and StarTalk Radio.”
We’re asking StarTalk listeners to submit their own photographs that capture the spirit of “November Nights” – clear, crisp skies filled with stars, moons, meteor showers like the Taurids and the Leonids, and more!
Each week for 6 weeks, we’ll pick one StarTalk fan photo to win an International Dark-Sky Association 2016 calendar. All entries will be entered into the monthly drawing for a Celestron COSMOS 60 AZ Telescope (Shown above – NOTE: A portion of the proceeds from this telescope benefits the International Dark-Sky Association to minimize light pollution!)
All submissions will also be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing for a NexStar Evolution 6 Computerized Telescope.
Where to Enter
To submit your photos, you must be following @Celestron on Twitter or @CelestronUniverse on Instagram. All entries must include the hashtag #StarTalkCYV. Visit Celestron.com for contest rules. No purchase is necessary.
We’ll be announcing the winners here on the blog, and on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook every Monday.
