Go Behind the Scenes for this Sunday’s Episode of StarTalk Radio

Judging from the amount of questions you submit to us on the depiction of science in the movies and on TV, on top of all the questions we get about science fiction, it’s clearly a favorite topic of yours.

And we’re not just talking about the questions we ask you to submit when we know we’re going into the recording studio. The topic is one of the more frequent ones in the unsolicited questions you ask using the “Questions” tab right here on our website. Previous episodes on the subject, Cosmic Queries: Science Fiction and Cosmic Queries: Science Fiction – The Sequel, have been among our most popular episodes.

So this Sunday, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and comic co-host Eugene Mirman are back again answering your Cosmic Queries about science in the movies and on TV, from Star Trek to Star Wars, Contact to Gravity, Buck Rogers to Sliders, and Mary Poppins to Man of Steel.

When we went in the studio last year to record this episode, we were lucky enough to have our video intern, Ben Ratner, with us to film nearly the entire recording session.

And that means that you have a rare opportunity, if you are so inclined, to watch virtually the entire episode as a series of “Behind the Scenes” videos on YouTube. (Which also means that some of you may have already seen some or most of this episode on YouTube as we’ve posted these segments over the last few months.)

You can watch Neil and Eugene answer individual Cosmic Queries one at a time below, or, if you have some time, you can click here to watch a playlist of all of the videos.

Of course, if you’d rather listen to the episode as a podcast, please join us this Sunday at 7:00pm ET on our website, iTunes, SoundCloud and Stitcher.

That’s it for now. Keep Looking Up!

–Jeffrey Simons
