Tomorrow Night, “The Astrophysicist Is In…Again!”

Office hours are open and the astrophysicist is in! This week on StarTalk Radio, Neil deGrasse Tyson and comic co-host Chuck Nice answer fan-submitted Cosmic Queries on a variety of topics from the Big Bang to haunted apartments.

You’ll hear about the Big Bang and “vacuum energy” and how we look for cosmic energy even in the void of nothingness. This leads into a conversation about Pascal’s Wager – the idea that it’s better to bet on God existing than God not existing – or as Chuck says, “the hedge fund of religion.”

After that, a fan poses a question I’ve always had myself: Is it easier to star-gaze on a warm night or a cold night? The answer, to me, is surprisingly in-depth, covering why the temperature, moisture, and location can make a drastic difference in visual availability of the night sky.

You’ll also hear what mysterious science quandaries still baffle and excite Neil including dark matter, universal expansion, and the creation of life.

Neil and Chuck also ponder if we’ll ever be able to travel through wormholes – and as you’ll hear, Neil says we’d better figure it out, or else.

Last, but certainly not least, Neil is asked the question we all want to know: What’s his favorite wine?

Please join us tomorrow night for Cosmic Queries: Office Hours Extended at 7pm ET right here on our website, as well as on Apple Podcasts, Google Play Music, SoundCloud, Stitcher, and TuneIn. If you’re an All-Access subscriber, you can watch or listen to this episode ad-free at 7pm, too.

That’s it for now. Keep Looking Up!
