Episode Preview: “A Tribute to Neil Armstrong” – Sunday, 9-9-12 at 7 PM EST

I just finished listening to what you’ll be able to hear this Sunday night: “A Tribute to Neil Armstrong.” The episode is an interesting blend of fan questions and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson’s personal recollections celebrating the life of the NASA astronaut who was the first man to walk on the moon.

Among other stories, Neil describes how, when he was just 14 years old, he met Neil Armstrong on what has to be the coolest cruise ship journey of all time: to the coast of Africa to view a total solar eclipse. He also talks about attending the moving, private funeral service that took place, serendipitously, on the day of an actual “blue moon.”

Together with comic co-host Eugene Mirman, Neil answers your Cosmic Queries about Neil Armstrong and Apollo 11 from Google+, Twitter, Facebook, and www.startalkradio.net.

It’s a unique episode of StarTalk Radio, and a fitting tribute to the humble NASA astronaut who enabled all of us to feel like we shared a little bit in one of the most momentous achievements in the history of all mankind.
