Did you know that StarTalk Radio has a YouTube channel?

Why would a podcast and radio show have a YouTube Channel, you may ask?

Well, I started out shooting “Behind the Scenes” videos during the first recording sessions I sat in on when I joined the StarTalk Team, using what we fondly refer to as “ShakyCam” (a handheld compact digital camera). But over time, we’ve improved our cameras, and our camera-people.

You’ll find dozens and dozens of these short video segments, usually consisting of astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson answering a Cosmic Query submitted by a fan and asked by one of our comic co-hosts. (Recently, we’ve even posted a few videos with a guest host like Mike Massamino sitting in for Neil, who has been off filming his upcoming Fox Television series, COSMOS. We’ll have more of those as time goes by, including some surprising and spectacular science all-star guest hosts like Bill Nye the Science Guy, Dr. Amy Mainzer, and more.)

Our YouTube videos include tonight’s newly posted “Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Cosmic Smackdown – Pluto vs Kepler 37b” as well as some of our most popular videos ever:

Neil deGrasse Tyson vs. Young Earth Creationism

Neil deGrasse Tyson Explains The Bermuda Triangle

Neil deGrasse Tyson Explains Time

Neil deGrasse Tyson: How to Blow Up a Planet

Neil deGrasse Tyson on the Multiverse and Higher Dimensions

We also co-produced 10 video versions of some of our studio and StarTalk Live! shows with The Nerdist, which means we have longer episodes that are similar to some of our full length podcasts. (The podcasts invariably contain much more content, but for some of our fans, shorter video is better than longer audio. To each their own.) You’ll find episodes with guests like Alan Rickman, Wil Wheaton, Jim Gaffigan, Sarah Silverman, Anthony Bourdain, Kristen Schaal, Dr. David Grinspoon, neuroscientist Heather Berlin, Cara Santa Maria, Wu-Tang Clan co-founder GZA, Dr. Ruth, Chris Harwick (the Nerdist himself) and more.

You can watch these episodes here on our playlist, StarTalk on the Nerdist Channel.

We usually post a new video every Wednesday night at 9:00 pm ET, like we just did tonight, so if you haven’t checked out our YouTube channel, we encourage you to head on over and watch tonight’s new video right now.

If you’d like to subscribe to our YouTube channel, so you get notified automatically when we put up a new video, click here.

That’s it for now. Keep Looking Up!
