After the StarTalk Saturnalia, you just might be seeing triple. Hey, it’s gonna be an out-of-this-world party! Credit: E. Karkoschka (Univ. Arizona), NASA.

After 6 seasons of our highly acclaimed, award-winning podcast and 2 seasons of #StarTalk TV, we feel like a celebration is in order.

But not just any celebration: a Saturnalia.

For those of you who don’t recognize the term, it comes from the ancient Roman festival of Saturn, held in December, and it is considered the pagan predecessor of Christmas.

Now here’s the thing: up until now, other than our staff, and co-hosts, guests and other friends of the show, the only people we were inviting to the StarTalk Saturnalia are our Patreon Patrons who meet this particular reward level.

And we have this option that lets anyone reach a reward, no matter how recently they became our Patrons, by pledging the specified amount in a lump payment. Then, the following month, they can drop down to their normal reward level. (It’s one of the coolest features on Patreon, because it means nobody is penalized for coming late to the party.)

And so we realized, hey, why not tell all of our fans about the party, just in case some of them are free the evening of December 15th, plan on being in Soho in NYC, and feel like hanging out with their favorite astrophysicist, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and his guests.

Which is exactly what I’m doing now.

This is your chance to become a StarTalk Patron on Patreon, pledge enough to qualify for the party, and join us on Dec. 15th. (You have to make your pledge so it’s charged at the end of November, so you don’t have much time. Sorry for the last minute invitation, as it were.)

If you think you might be interested in coming to the StarTalk Saturnalia, you can learn more on our Patreon page. Once you become a Patron, we’ll send you an invitation (with details like exact time, location, etc.) to which you can RSVP.

That’s it for now. Keep Looking Up!
