More exciting news from StarTalk. We’re building an online “Cosmic Community” of academic and scientific organizations, programming groups, schools and astronomy clubs that will promote excitement and interest in STEM education. And we can’t do it without you!

Our goal is to create a destination where anyone who loves science can come to find out about the different groups they can join, and for those groups to get free exposure to potential new members.

If you represent an organization that would like to join our Cosmic Community, just click on this link to complete and submit a short application form and we’ll be in touch.

The community is still under development, but elements of the program will most likely include:

  • An organization listing, description, and link on our website
  • Blog Post: Monthly Cosmic Community guest post on our blog from a selected community organization
  • The StarTalker Newsletter: One Community member will be Spotlighted in each weekly issue
  • Retweets and posts of your upcoming events
  • Mentions on air
  • The opportunity to pose a question to Neil deGrasse Tyson (one organization per show during Cosmic Queries)

StarTalk is all about science, and we’re very excited about building this new type of community – but it can only exist with you!

That’s it for now. Keep Looking Up!

Love the concept and look forward to all the wonderful scientific discussions. I must confess early on here that I am not even a novice scientific contributor but a mere member of the citizenry. I do however wish to use my mind for more than just keeping my eyeballs from rolling around like bingo balls. Science is the foundation upon which all things are achieved and I firmly believe that our society can not afford to allow its extinction.
Please include me on any mail lists you develop for information on how I may follow this endeavor through its refinement and perfection.
Thank You
My fondest memories are being told to “Look it up” when I had a question while growing up, by my Mom, we were fortunate to have an Encyclopedia set, and I learned more through curiosity while flipping the pages as I forgot what I was looking up. This concept is still with me.
