From the moment it was first announced that StarTalk Radio would become a weekly, late-night TV show hosted by your own personal astrophysicist, Neil deGrasse Tyson, we’ve been getting questions from fans about how they could be in the audience for the taping.

And we haven’t had an answer for you until now.

First of all, I just want to be clear that the “studio” where we film the show isn’t as big as it sounds. We record in the Cullman Hall of the Universe at the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History. And while the story of the entire universe may be unfolding above our heads and all around us, there aren’t that many seats in Cullman Hall for an audience.

So working together with the American Museum of Natural History and the National Geographic Channel, we’ve created a lottery where you can enter your name to receive up to 2 tickets for an upcoming recording session.

Tickets are free – there is no purchase necessary.

Please keep in mind that we record two episodes per recording session, so the sessions can get pretty long. They start at 6, and some of our sessions have lasted until 10 pm.

You can get more information and enter the ticket lottery here.

That’s it for now. Keep Looking Up!
